We consider ourselves to be documentarians.\u00a0 We are definitely not restaurant critics.\u00a0 And we are, largely, not unbiased reviewers.\u00a0 Most typically, we talk about something on this website because it is something we love, or we know and like the people behind it.\u00a0 We don’t often explicitly call out these connections in an editorial note outside of\u00a0the article, but rather try to embed the necessary context into the story itself.<\/p>\n

See this post<\/a> for an example of this in action.\u00a0 It was quite clear within the story that we knew the owner, and that we were invited to his restaurant as friends.\u00a0 At least one reader was unhappy with this– he didn’t think it was an honest review of the restaurant.\u00a0 And I agree, if that was what we claimed to be doing, we would be doing it wrong.\u00a0 But as a document about our life it was accurate and truthful.<\/p>\n

And that is one thing we\u00a0certainly do owe you: truthfulness.\u00a0 When we don’t like something, we won’t claim to like it.\u00a0 We\u00a0also won’t say we like something because someone pays us to.<\/p>\n

We do occasionally get perks for writing for this website (such as an invitation to this tour<\/a> from the Milk Marketing Board).\u00a0 Again, rather than editorial notes, we try to provide necessary disclosure within the articles themselves.<\/p>\n

Privacy Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your privacy is important to us.\u00a0 For that reason, we’d like to explain what information our website captures, and what we do with that information.<\/p>\n

Like virtually all websites,\u00a0 we collect data in log files and use this data to better understand who is visiting the site. This is\u00a0used for\u00a0showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing food related\u00a0ads to someone who frequents our site).<\/p>\n

Adsense may\u00a0also use\u00a0DART cookies for ad serving through Google\u2019s DoubleClick, which places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising. This cookie is used to serve ads specific to your interests.\u00a0 The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history. DART uses \u201cnon personally identifiable information\u201d.
