<\/a>Drool…doesn’t that look amazing?\u00a0 Go ahead, touch it, have a little taste of the dulce de leche slowly dripping on\u00a0its sides.\u00a0 I’ve been roasting a lot of pumpkin lately.\u00a0 It is simply delicious and it makes the house smell fantastic.\u00a0 I’ve mixed some pureed pumpkin in my oatmeal with a drizzle of maple syrup for breakfast.\u00a0 Another delicious item I’ve concocted is pumpkin blended with So Delicious <\/a>coconut milk with a bit of honey and cardamom powder.\u00a0 My latest successful experiment is pictured below, the pumpkin sticky bun.<\/p>\n Pumpkin Sticky Bun<\/em><\/p>\n Besides messing about with pumpkins, I’ve also been baking bread using one of my favorite books, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes A Day<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0I highly recommend buying the book.\u00a0 You can buy it used on Amazon <\/a>for $12.\u00a0 I made half of the\u00a0master recipe (p. 26)\u00a0and mixed in 1 cup of the pureed pumpkin.\u00a0<\/p>\n Filling<\/em><\/p>\n For the dulce de leche I boiled two unopened cans of condensed milk for about two hours.\u00a0 Make sure that the cans are always completely submerged in water so they do not explode.\u00a0 After baking spread some dulce de leche (DDL as Alton Brown <\/a>would say)\u00a0on top of the hot buns.\u00a0\u00a0A little warning, several spoonfuls of\u00a0DDL might find their way into your mouth after doing this activity.\u00a0 \u00a0And\u00a0just in case you were wondering, the other can is sitting happily in the pantry right now until it’s time for it to be devoured.\u00a0 The sticky buns were sinfully good.\u00a0 It might have even been better if I had thought to put some pumpkin in the filling mix.\u00a0<\/p>\n I also made some baguettes using\u00a0a recipe\u00a0from the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day book<\/a>.\u00a0 They are not perfect but it was fun and satisfying.\u00a0 I hope to show you a picture of an entire piece when I get a little bit better.\u00a0 Happy cooking and eating!<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/pumpkinstickybuns2.jpg\" "\\"pumpkinstickybuns\\"")
