and you&#8217;ll get a picture of me grinning from ear to ear.\u00a0 I like to wake up early (earlier than the time my dog Ollie requires his morning belly rub), go for a jog, take pictures of dewy flowers, and most of all bake!\u00a0 Below is my first attempt at making buttermilk biscuits.\u00a0 They turned out nice and tender, a little moist, with a bit of flakiness.\u00a0 It&#8217;s amazing what a lot of butter and buttermilk can do. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mineralpointmarket.com\/marrs-valley-view-farms.htm\"><em>Marr&#8217;s<\/em><\/a> <em>Bacon, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windyridgepottery.com\/blog.html\">Windy Ridge<\/a> Eggs, &amp; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hookscheese.com\/\">Hook&#8217;s<\/a> Cheddar Cheese Sandwich<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/BreakfastSandwich.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2879\" title=\"BreakfastSandwich\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/BreakfastSandwich.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"706\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/BreakfastSandwich.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/BreakfastSandwich-300x211.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><!--more-->Buttermilk Biscuits <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>(from James Beard&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/031609868X\/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&amp;pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&amp;pf_rd_t=201&amp;pf_rd_i=0316085669&amp;pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&amp;pf_rd_r=0P4YWR7BNVAQ5VXP04FY\">American Cookery<\/a>)<\/em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>2 c. all purpose flour<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 1\/2 t. baking powder<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/2 t. salt<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/2 t. baking soda<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/3 c. butter (I used <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alcamcreamery.com\/categories\/hand-rolled-butter.html\">Alcam Creamery<\/a> butter)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>3\/4 c. buttermilk (full fat)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Combine all the dry ingredients and sift into a mixing bowl. Add the butter and blend in well. Stir in the buttermilk and blend till the dough holds together, Turn out on a floured board and flour the top of the dough lightly. Knead about 3 minutes and pat or roll out in a circle about \u00bd inch thick.
