I just spent a lovely afternoon picking strawberries at Bures Berry Patch<\/a> with my friend Claire.\u00a0 We picked almost 20 lbs. of the delicious gems.\u00a0 Picking was no easy task because it was a little hot and humid, there were a few bugs buzzing about, and squatting was a bit annoying.\u00a0 I know, I’m such a whiner.\u00a0 That is\u00a0why I will\u00a0forever remain\u00a0an admirer of farmers and not become one of them.\u00a0 We did make the best of our time at the patch.\u00a0 After squatting for awhile, we decided to sit cross-legged\u00a0on the cushy hay between the rows of berries, maybe pretended to have a tea party, and tasted one or two or ten morsels.<\/p>\n

It was\u00a0my third visit to the patch since 2009.\u00a0 Check out my first visit here<\/a>.\u00a0 Ed and Kathy Bures are still going strong and looking happy as ever providing such a wonderful experience for people in the community.\u00a0 The season is short and the berries are exceptional so go as soon as you can if you want one last taste of spring.\u00a0 I’m going to get myself a nice bowl of fresh\u00a0strawberries from the kitchen right now.\u00a0 Tomorrow, I will make some jam<\/a> or\u00a0preserves and maybe some pancakes<\/a> the morning after.<\/p>\n
