This morning we visited our first\u00a0farmers’ market of the season, the Mineral Point Farmers’ Market<\/a>.\u00a0 We\u00a0got some spinach, leeks, butter lettuce, and asparagus as well as two packages of bacon (don’t judge) and all beef hotdogs for grilling out from Marr’s<\/a>.\u00a0 It was wonderful to see familiar faces again\u00a0and to meet some new ones.<\/p>\n

After the market, we visited our friends\u00a0Krista Loomans and Aaron Weaver at the Green Lantern Gallery.\u00a0 They are participating in Clay in May<\/a>, a pottery tour in Mineral Point going on this weekend.\u00a0 Looking at all the\u00a0elegant and whimsical dishware\u00a0made me very hungry so we went home soon after purchasing a couple of things\u00a0and prepared\u00a0a lovely springtime lunch below.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Salad:\u00a0Shooting Star<\/a> butter lettuce , \u00a0Bures<\/a>\u00a0asparagus, garden chives , Hook’s<\/a> goat’s milk gouda,\u00a0with\u00a0lemon vinaigrette<\/em><\/p>\n

Pasta:\u00a0 Gnocchi, Bel Gioso <\/a>parmesan, garden oregano<\/em><\/p>\n

Dessert:\u00a0 Garden rhubarb strawberry\u00a0crumble<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0We are looking forward to eating the best food\u00a0in the Driftless Area<\/a> this season.\u00a0 REAP Food Group<\/a>\u00a0lists 70 farmers’ markets<\/a> in Southern Wisconsin.\u00a0 C’mon let’s market hop \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
