<\/a>Signs I’m becoming a true Wisconsinite.\u00a0 I always have\u00a0at least seven kinds of cheese in the fridge\u00a0and Spotted Cow<\/a>.\u00a0 I’m starting to think that parkas can be stylish\u00a0paired with my\u00a0negative 100 degree Sorel boots, deerskin gloves, and rabbit skin hat. (Oh, how I wish we had a bit of snow right now.)\u00a0 I sometimes catch myself saying “beg” instead of pronouncing \/b\u00e6\u0261\/ for a women’s purse.\u00a0 New to my list is “The Old Fashioned” cocktail which I appropriately had at The Old Fashioned Tavern & Restaurant<\/a>\u00a0in Madison.\u00a0 The only things left to do is to maybe\u00a0become a die hard Packer fan and to\u00a0hunt my own meat.\u00a0 After living in\u00a0America’s Dairyland\u00a0for eight years now, I think I’m right on track.<\/p>\n \u00a0Old Fashioned & Cherry Grenadine<\/em><\/p>\n About a month ago,\u00a0Keith and I\u00a0met Clare of Quince & Apple<\/a> at Fromagination<\/a> in Madison.\u00a0 She was giving out samples of their latest product, Tart Cherry Grenadine<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 I have\u00a0used the syrup in iced teas and my G&T’s.\u00a0 After my first taste of\u00a0a Wisconsin Old Fashioned last week, I thought I should definitely make some at home.\u00a0\u00a0In recipes I’ve seen, a bit of the fluorescent red maraschino cherry liquid is used for the cocktail but I thought it might taste better\u00a0using the cherry grenadine.\u00a0 Not only was it better , it made it more authentically Wisconsin because\u00a0they syrup\u00a0is made from Door County cherries.\u00a0 You should definitely make this at home.\u00a0 Cheers!<\/p>\n RECIPE<\/strong><\/p>\n Ingredients<\/em><\/p>\n Muddle the first 3 igredients in a glass then add the remaining ingredients below.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Signs I’m becoming a true Wisconsinite.\u00a0 I always have\u00a0at least seven kinds of cheese in the fridge\u00a0and Spotted Cow.\u00a0 I’m starting to think that parkas can be stylish\u00a0paired with my\u00a0negative 100 degree Sorel boots, deerskin gloves, and rabbit skin hat.
