Spaghetti<\/a>. \u00a0Spaghetti <em>alla puttanesca<\/em> originated from the island of Ischia in Southern Italy, made with\u00a0a combination of cooked tomatoes, anchovies, garlic, black olives, chilies, and olive oil. <em>\u00a0Puttanesca<\/em> is derived from the word <em>puttana,\u00a0<\/em>a colloquialism for &#8220;prostitute&#8221;. \u00a0Might I add, it is a very <em>easy<\/em> and a fairly <em>cheap<\/em> dish to make!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/?attachment_id=4621\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4621\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" olive oil<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 cloves crushed garlic<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/2 t. chili flakes<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>8 anchovies<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/3 c. chopped black olives<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 T. capers<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 and 1\/2 c. strained tomatoes (I love the <a href=\"http:\/\/pomi.us.com\/home.php\">Pomi<\/a> brand)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 T. fresh parsley<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Boil a big pot of water to cook the pasta. \u00a0Add a little bit of salt to the water. \u00a0In a wide pan,\u00a0saut\u00e9e the anchovies in the olive oil until it has almost melted then add the garlic. \u00a0Toss in the garlic, capers, and pour in the tomato sauce. \u00a0Let is simmer gently until the pasta water is ready. \u00a0When the pasta is almost done, reserve a cup of the boiling liquid. \u00a0Put the drained pasta and a little bit of the water into the sauce and turn up the temperature a little bit. \u00a0Let it simmer together. \u00a0Add the
