pancakes.\u00a0 They looked a little strange on their own so I decided to make another batch using browned butter for a nice contrast.\u00a0 I used the &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Good-Old-Fashioned-Pancakes\/Detail.aspx\">Good Old Fashioned Pancakes<\/a>&#8221; recipe from<a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\"> Allrecipes.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-532\" title=\"pancakes\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/pancakes.jpg\" alt=\"pancakes\" width=\"1000\" height=\"699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/pancakes.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/08\/pancakes-300x209.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->RECIPE<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Red Velvet&#8221; Pancakes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ingredients I added to the <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Good-Old-Fashioned-Pancakes\/Detail.aspx\">original recipe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>2 oz. cream cheese<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 extra T. of sugar<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 t. cocoa powder<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1\/2 medium sized roasted beet<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Browned Butter Pancakes <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*I added 1 more T. of butter for a total of 4T. and browned them before adding into the batter.<\/p>\n<p>Results:<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m used to having fluffy and airy pancakes and this recipe yielded slightly more dense ones .\u00a0 These were a delightful change.\u00a0 The texture reminded me a bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/allrecipes.com\/Recipe\/Dutch-Babies-II\/Detail.aspx\">Dutch Baby pancakes<\/a>.\u00a0 (Not too heavy though).\u00a0 When Keith came into the kitchen he groaned and had a disgusted look on his face.\u00a0 I urged him to have a little taste and he loved them!\u00a0 He kept trying to take some more so I had to send him away until I was done cooking.\u00a0 Both pancakes were delicious on their own but we just had to try some using our favorite maple syrup from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cookswoods.biz\/index.html\">Cooks&#8217;
