Hello everyone, happy springtime!\u00a0 It has been absolutely gorgeous here especially with the mist and rain.\u00a0 The grass is finally green and sparkling with a million water droplets.\u00a0 I have been checking on my garden almost everyday.\u00a0\u00a0Soon there will be\u00a0enough rhubarb to make my favorite rhubarb custard pie.\u00a0 I’ve used chives in just about everything for a\u00a0week now.\u00a0 My garlic plants are fat and about a foot tall.\u00a0 This morning, I spotted a patch of wild violets near my Concord grape vines.\u00a0 This year, I think I will finally have a go at sugaring some violets to decorate cakes.\u00a0 Speaking of cakes, I celebrated my birthday recently.\u00a0 Keith surprised me with a cake made by Erin from Enos Farms<\/a>.\u00a0 I had never been so excited to open a box of cake.\u00a0 A cake in a wooden box with a leather strap!\u00a0 I seriously imagined a fluffy bunny with a half-eaten\u00a0cupcake inside.<\/p>\n

When Keith told me it was made by Erin, I really wanted to see what kind of cake it was.\u00a0 Two years ago, I asked her to make my birthday cake.\u00a0 It was a white cake with strawberry preserves, vanilla buttercream frosting, decorated with apple blossoms.\u00a0 Frankly, it was the best cake we had\u00a0ever had until this one came along.\u00a0 Let’s just take a moment to look below.<\/p>\n
