Jennifer&#8217;s famous egg sandwiches and sticky buns with\u00a0multiple cups of\u00a0coffee.\u00a0 Keith even had a favorite spot to sit.\u00a0 A brown leather chair in a corner (which we bought after they closed).\u00a0 It was a fun spot where they hosted open mics.\u00a0 A couple of times, my students even had their recitals in there.\u00a0 When the restaurant closed, the space became a temporary gallery space and\u00a0it also housed\u00a0the winter farmer&#8217;s market.\u00a0 Now, it is home to a new restaurant called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Tequila-Point\/1403897229886111?fref=ts\">Tequila Point<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5487\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3.jpeg\" alt=\"tequilapoint3\" width=\"1000\" height=\"651\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3-300x195.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3-150x97.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3-400x260.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Keith and I went on opening night.\u00a0 The dining space was bright and airy and the Southwest-inspired menu\u00a0looked enticing.\u00a0 To start, Keith had the house margarita and I had a\u00a0delightful pineapple-jalape\u00f1o margarita, rimmed with cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper.\u00a0 The chips arrived with two kinds of salsas, a mild type and a richer and spicier\u00a0habanero.\u00a0 After that, a refreshing\u00a0plate of shrimp and scallop ceviche with baby greens and multi-colored sweet peppers.\u00a0 Next was\u00a0a plate of pork enchiladas with fried potatoes.\u00a0 The next set of drinks included something called the\u00a0&#8220;Mambo&#8221;, a coconut cream and lime cocktail and a\u00a0honeydew melon and cucumber margarita, rimmed with cinnamon.\u00a0\u00a0We then shared the beef\u00a0brisket tacos with fat chunks of queso fresco\u00a0served with rice and beans.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5485\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1.jpeg\" alt=\"tequilapoint1\" width=\"1500\" height=\"857\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1.jpeg 1500w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1-300x171.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1-1024x585.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1-150x85.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint1-400x228.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Determined to have\u00a0the complete experience, we let Richard, one of the owners, coax us into trying their horchata milkshake (which can be ordered with or without alcohol) for dessert.\u00a0 We had eaten quite a bit already so I was happy that he\u00a0offered to\u00a0bring\u00a0two little servings in shotglasses.\u00a0 It was an excellent meal and we can&#8217;t wait to go back!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5486\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2.jpeg\" alt=\"tequilapoint2\" width=\"1000\" height=\"976\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2.jpeg 1000w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2-300x292.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2-150x146.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint2-400x390.jpeg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/tequilapoint3.jpeg\">\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Keith and I moved to Mineral Point\u00a0seven years ago, one of\u00a0the best spots to hang out was the Old Royal Inn.\u00a0 There was a restaurant and bar\u00a0on the main floor.\u00a0 We spent many Saturday mornings there\u00a0munching on Mark &amp;
