width:48px;height:48px; margin: 0; padding: 0; border: none; box-shadow: none;\" src=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/plugins\/social-media-feather\/synved-social\/image\/social\/regular\/96x96\/rss.png\" \/><\/a><p>I have been having a recurring dream in which I am all alone in the middle of a field of strawberries.\u00a0 I eat and I eat and I swell up and turn red (like Violet in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).\u00a0 Then I wake up.\u00a0 You might call it a nightmare, but I don&#8217;t.\u00a0 I think I&#8217;d be happier that way&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-105\" title=\"bures\" src=\"http:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/bures1.jpg\" alt=\"bures\" width=\"1000\" height=\"724\" srcset=\"https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/bures1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/driftlessappetite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/06\/bures1-300x217.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Wednesday\u00a0 for breakfast I had\u00a0 a strawberry smoothie using the last of my frozen berries.\u00a0 Perfect timing, since it&#8217;s strawberry season and I&#8217;m about to make my annual strawberry picking visit to<a href=\"http:\/\/www.buresberrypatch.com\/\"> Bures Berry Patch<\/a>.\u00a0 Located between Barneveld and Ridgeway, Bures is one of the most picturesque &#8216;pick your own&#8217; farm I&#8217;ve ever been too.\u00a0 Ed and Cathy Bures started this sustainable family farm 7 years ago.\u00a0 They have five picking seasons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Asparagus &#8211; April-May<\/li>\n<li>Strawberries &#8211;
